Motul C5 Chain Paste is a specialty lubricant designed for road motorcycle chains where high performance, durability, and cleanliness are required. The white paste is formulated to cling to the inner parts of the chain, ensuring that lubrication persists even under aggressive riding or high speeds. Because it’s a paste (rather than a thin oil), it stays in place, reduces fling, and doesn’t drip or sling onto surrounding parts. It’s suitable for all common sealed chains (O-ring, X-ring, Z-ring) without damaging their seals. The formulation includes additives to combat wear, oxidation, and corrosion, making it ideal for use in harsh road conditions (rain, salt, dust). For best results, chains should be cleaned (e.g. with Motul Chain Clean) before applying C5, then a thin, homogeneous layer should be applied and allowed to set for a few minutes.
