Effective 8 September 2026 · How Myhomeetal handles information used to provide shopping, account, delivery, support and optional newsletter services.
This policy explains how Myhomeetal handles personal information when you browse the storefront, create an account, place or receive an order, use Wallet features, contact support, choose to receive newsletter updates or otherwise use the service. Myhomeetal determines the purposes and means of the core processing described here and may use service providers to process information on its behalf.
Depending on how you use Myhomeetal, we may process your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, delivery addresses, cart and saved items, orders, reviews, referrals, vouchers, notifications, Wallet transactions, returns, support communications and, where you choose to subscribe, your newsletter email address and consent record.
We may also process technical and security information such as IP address, browser or device information, session activity, request identifiers, audit records and browser storage used to maintain necessary account, shopping, security or consent state.
Information may come directly from you, from your activity on Myhomeetal, from staff acting on an order or support request, and from service providers involved in payment, delivery, communications, hosting or security where they return information needed to operate the service.
We use personal information to create and secure accounts, process and deliver orders, maintain carts and saved products, operate Wallet credit, handle cancellations and returns, provide customer support, send service notifications, prevent fraud or abuse, reconcile business records, improve reliability, comply with legal obligations and, where you have opted in, maintain your preference for optional catalogue and shopping updates.
Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing may rely on performance of a contract, steps requested before a contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests such as service security and fraud prevention, or consent where consent is the appropriate lawful basis.
Myhomeetal records payment, Wallet and refund transaction information needed to process orders and reconcile financial activity. When an external payment provider is enabled, sensitive card or bank-entry details may be collected directly by that provider rather than stored by Myhomeetal. Provider-specific processing is also subject to that provider’s privacy terms.
To fulfil an order, Myhomeetal may share the customer name, phone number, delivery address, delivery instructions, order or package reference and related fulfilment information with an approved delivery partner. Delivery partners should receive only the information reasonably required to quote, dispatch, track, deliver, resolve a delivery issue or handle an authorised return.
Myhomeetal may use an email or communications provider to deliver account verification, password recovery, order, payment, delivery, return and security messages. The provider receives the recipient address and message data needed to deliver the communication. Essential service messages are separate from optional marketing communications.
If you submit the newsletter form, Myhomeetal records your email address, the time and source of the opt-in, and uses that consent only for optional catalogue, product and shopping updates. Newsletter subscription is not required to create an account or place an order. You may withdraw that consent at any time through the newsletter preferences page or by contacting support.
Myhomeetal does not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the business, including hosting, database, storage, payment, delivery, communications, security and support providers, where the sharing is necessary for their role. We may also disclose information where required by law, lawful process, dispute resolution or to protect customers, Myhomeetal or the public.
Myhomeetal uses necessary browser storage for service functions such as security, account and shopping state and consent choices. Optional analytics or marketing storage should remain off unless the customer chooses to allow it. You can review or change those choices through the Cookie Policy and settings.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including account operation, order fulfilment, financial and audit records, warranty or return handling, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Newsletter consent is retained while the subscription remains active; after withdrawal, limited evidence of the preference change may be retained where reasonably needed to honour the opt-out and demonstrate compliance. Different categories may have different retention periods. Information should be deleted, anonymised or otherwise securely handled when it is no longer required.
Some technology providers may process or store information outside Nigeria. Where cross-border processing occurs, Myhomeetal should use the transfer mechanism, contractual safeguards or other protection required by applicable data-protection law and should consider the nature of the data and provider involved.
We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted transport, security monitoring, rate limiting and restricted administrative access. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so customers should also protect their passwords and report suspected account misuse promptly.
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to be informed about processing, obtain access to your personal information, request correction, object to or restrict certain processing, request deletion where appropriate, receive portable data in applicable cases, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent and seek human intervention regarding qualifying automated decisions.
You can submit and track an account deletion request online. Newsletter consent can be withdrawn separately without deleting an account through the newsletter preferences page or by contacting support. You may also raise a complaint with Myhomeetal and, where applicable, with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority. Some records may still need to be retained for orders, finance, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations.
Myhomeetal is not intended for independent use by children. A person under 18 should use the shopping service only under the supervision of a parent or guardian in accordance with the Terms of Use. Myhomeetal does not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 for independent shopping accounts.
We may update this policy when our service, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes should be communicated or renewed consent requested where required.
For privacy questions, consent withdrawals, requests or complaints, contact Myhomeetal support. Account holders can also use the online account deletion request. We may need reasonable information to verify identity before acting on a privacy request.
